Kone Corporation has been established in Helsinki, Finland in 1910. Its main activity has been since beginning, manufacturing and marketing of elevators and escalators and providing maintenance services for the same.

Since 1945, Kone Elevators has grown from a middle size domestic supplier to one of the biggest manfacturers in Lift business world wide. At the moment it ranks Third biggest lift manufacturer and No.1 in the world for Escalators having manufacturing plants on all continents excluding Antartica with 20,869 employees.

Of all elevator companies in the world, Kone has grown most, during the past decades. Even during the recent economical depression Kone has grown and been profitable unlike many other manufacturers.

Kone has been active in the Middle East since mid 1970's in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain.

There are at the moment well over 4,000 Kone elevators and over 1500 escalators of different sizes and designs in operation in the Middle East area.

In the United Arab Emirates, KONE is operating under the sponsership of GIBCA Ltd. and boast of a strong set-up. The after-sales is our greatest concern, with over 500 lifts/escalators, we ensure to each customer the highest degree of service. The maintenance department is manned by factory trained engineers and technicians in addition our trainers from the Factory visit the Emirates from time to time to impart the technology and expertise for the new Kone products. The after sales services given to our customers are KONE's important activities. Today over 350,000 elevators all over the world are included in KONE's maintenance contracts.
